The Contenders Boxers no longer uses X-ray exams for the purpose of checking an expectant bitch before whelping. When Princess Leia Organa VI was expecting her third litter she had such an exam. The Veterinarian staff reported difficulty in posing her and had repeated the procedure many times! After losing this female to breast cancer due to abuse by unqualified Veterinarian staff it was decided to use non-lethal Sonogram when checking a pregnancy. This also reduces risk to unborn puppies. Update: It now appears that 2 of the female puppies from the litter of 4 mentioned above have suffered reproductive damage from the X-Ray abuse.
